The name appears in the Vinland Sagas, and describes Newfoundland and the Gulf of Saint Lawrence as far as northeastern New Brunswick.There were some unusual things that happened while growing up near Vinland which was approximately 1966 to 1971. Before that, we had lived in many places in Kansas. Baldwin City, Gardner, Olathe. We moved a lot (I went to 5 different kindergartens in Olathe).
