If not sell it to ...Sep 23, 2012 · First off is the model 1895, this is an easy one to identify, it will have a serial number under 10.000 and the pads on the sides of the receiver will be rounded instead of pointed like the model 1899’s and 1895’s. The forearm is very slender and rises to the receiver very sharply.

To my surprise, the Savage 99 was ranked 35th. I was sure it would have at least made the top 5. In my humble opinion the great Model 99 should have ranked higher. It was a great design that was truly ahead of its time when Arthur Savage developed it in the 1890s. He designed the 1899 in hope of winning a contract with the war department. The color case on the lever shows very little use. It has a 24 inch barrel with a fantastic bore. It has a Redfield hunter 3x9x40 scope.
