Sep 25, 2023 · This is a variant Monk built around the Long Pain Fists. Until level 7, you will play as a conventional Monk. Because of low Resolve, you will have to play slightly cautiously at first. Once you get The Long Pain ability, you have an extremely high damage, dual-wield weapon. These do noticeably more damage than the monk's unarmed attacks, but because they count as ranged weapons and a ton of monk abilities only work for melee weapons they make a lot of other skills obsolete. Their DPS is so good, however, that they're worth it IMO. You can build a monk around something other than single-target damage.Monk is probably the best Pistol class, between Flurry and Dance of Death. Everything you need is available early, so multiclassing Monk/Devoted to Pistol is gonna be the best Pistoleer. Devoted gives you proficiency with Unarmed and your weapon of choice.
