I like to carry the 320 more since it's a little lighter and no beaver tail. The 229 feels better in my hand. They both shoot really well. I haven’t seen any police departments having anymore issues or the Army or Air Force with the M18/M17 that is essentially a P320 with a manual safety. I did absolutely love my P229 before I traded it, but I’m much happier with the P320 I got to replace it.

Sep 11, 2022 · The stamped slide of the P245 on the P229 slide. You can see the P229 is notably thicker. This means the OG P229’s slide is wider (~3mm) than every other P2XX Sig. All of which have pretty much the same ~1-inch slide width. Hell, the OG P229’s slide is even wider than a Ruger P89’s slide (but not the frame).It has an overall length of 5.85in, a height of 4.3in, and a barrel length of 3.1in. Compare that to the 6.7in overall length, 4.7in height, and 3.6in barrel length of P-320. Meanwhile, Sig Sauer P365 weights 17.8 oz while P320 is at 24.9oz. Regardless, both aren't full-size guns, so their build makes them popular for concealed carry.
