I think the better way would be go to Theramore -> Boat to Menethil Harbor -> Boat to Auberdine -> fly/boat to Darnassus. Alliance has to make a trip to Darnassus for the quest in Tanaris. So before going there, I recommend saving at Tanaris, and use HS on your way back from the Darnassus.
