This would be my first Hotas. Please note that I am on PC. Logitech Extreme 3D for a classic budget joystick that honestly isn't bad for the price. TM T.16000M for a cheap, but decent joystick. TM TWCS for a good budget throttle. VKB T-Rudders for the really good pedals at a great price (cheaper pedals are pretty bad). The buttons, levers and trim wheel are perfect for the sort of flying I do. It feels well made, for what is a ball and gimbal stick, but I do only have the Tflight HOTAS for comparison.
Bought an X52 Pro a number of years ago. The 64-bit drivers for the MFD were complete garbage, and would intermittently bluescreen the PC. In between bluescreens, the microcontroller on the HOTAS would periodically crash, causing windows to lose stick calibration. There is one spring per axis instead of a central spring too. This provides smoother movement and prevents stiction. VKB also uses good grease for their gimbal which further improves the feel. I modded my TWCS throttle and it drastically improved my piloting. I've been using a Thrustmaster TWCS and a VKB Gladiator NXT for quite a while now. They're amazing pieces of hardware, especially in VR! It really ups the immersion. What has been bothering me though is the amount of "stiction" of the throttle unit.3 comments.
