However, since Julianos is a lot easier to get (crafted set) and you don't have to worry about your monster set's armor type so much I still recommend getting Julianos most of the time.

Like others have said, Julianos is a perfectly fine Set still. Sorry to hear about those Gold mats, that sucks. Wondering if anyone has done the math on whether War Maiden or Julianos is better for DPS. Primarily interested in non-CP PvP and I don't use Mage Light (so no passive buff to Spell Crit).
