Your best friend when it comes to taking on Duke Fishron is the UFO mount. Unlimited flight gives you a great advantage . As a weapon, I used the Influx Waver and for equipment I used a warrior emblem, fire gauntlet, ankh shield, star veil and sun stone . Everything I used is pre-Duke Fishron, but might be difficult to attain.Ftw duke fishron is just master mode with more damage. And by more damage I mean ~500 contact damage. One of the few ftw bosses that didn't get new AI, was pretty dissapointed when I fought him. I recommend the Gelatinous Pillion if you're struggling though, turns the fight into a breeze, even on hardcore(so long as you don't lose your nerve)

duke fishron is one of the most predictable bosses in the game so it's pretty easy once you learn the attack patterns. Patience. Dying more times than you can count.
