Hey all! I've never played an African start before, but with the advent of CK3, I'd like to give it a try. Here are some of the things I'd like to do in my African game: Start as a small (ish) tribe somewhere in subsaharan Africa, Form or reform a religion, Have an expansive dynasty with high Renown, Assemble an empire!

You have to own 3 holy sites, which are spread out as all hell meaning you have to conquer an extremely large amount of territory. Worse, you have to hold those sites until you get a character with probably 4k piety due to high fervor and have those sites not get lost in succession.
