There are other parking lots near the border crossing but they don't take reservations and they don't have shuttle to CBX, so you would need to take a cab. Using CBX should be quick and easy, but it takes extra time because half the travelers show up at the entrance gate without a CBX ticket, and without there airline ticket and passport in hand (they have to search for it), plus one quarter ...
