Jan 22, 2021 · Alteryx Designer provides a Block Until Done (BUD) tool to help partition the work into phases that won’t get in each other’s way. When working on a workflow with multiple branches (largely separate streams from inputs to outputs), place the BUD tool in the workflow branch with the lowest numbered Input tool ID. The Block Until Done tool stops datasets from moving downstream until the last record in the set has been processed by all previous tools. In addition, this tool ensures that only a single output stream receives the completed dataset. Subsequent streams are blocked until all the dataset records are pushed through the first stream.
