It basically turns BL3 into BL2, world drops are basically gone, anointments don't spawn anymore, there's some scaling changes (largely to balance the loss of the damage you'd get from anointments) and some of the really good guns (Monarch, Hellwalker and stuff) are now pearls. Unfortunately Hellwalker suffers from a bug that removes its damage increase if you quit and play again where the only fix is to close and reopen BL3. It'll keep happening too so you're stuck in an endless loop of closing BL3, opening it again, farm whatever you're farming, quit, and back to closing it and reopening.
